These .31 caliber Colt conicals are cast on an Eras Gone Bullets mold, and are an exact copy of the bullet supplied with the model 1849 Colt revolver. These are approximately double the weight of the otherwise appropriate .321 round ball, and thus add significantly to the “stopping power” of the diminutive pocket pistol. They’re 80gr on the scale, cast in pure lead and measures .327″ at it’s widest point. The heel measures .303″in diameter, and is long enough to allow comfortable seating and the attachment of a combustible cartridge if you so choose. The overall length is .493″, and this is where there is a caveat to this bullets versatility. It will NOT fit in the Remington 1858 Pocket Model revolvers. Their loading cut is too shallow to accommodate the length of this conical.
